It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our colleague and dear friend, Calvin Tuchscherer, passed away unexpectedly on June 28th. As we must, we will press forward and do the best we can, but all who knew and worked with Calvin know that there is no way to replace him.
Calvin was a man of principle. He said what he meant, and he meant what he said. He would stand up and fight for what he thought was right, no matter the circumstances or negative repercussions to him. Calvin was loyal. Whether serving or advocating for a client or working alongside a colleague, Calvin was always willing to do more than his fair share. Calvin was smart. Although he said frequently that he was not smart and that is why he had to work so hard, he was creative and could usually come up with a way to get the job done with a good outcome for his clients. Calvin was generous. Calvin had a knack for showing up at just the right time to give a hearty “thank you” that made you feel better about your contribution to the team. Calvin was fun. Calvin was a Coors Light guy all the way. He worked hard, and he played hard. He always made time to be at any event celebrating the team and accomplishments. Calvin loved his family. Calvin loved his time with his daughters and grandkids. He will certainly be missed by his family and by those he worked with through the years.
If you had the privilege of working with Calvin as your CPA, know that while we are grieving, we are also doing what we need to in order to transition your projects and our services to those at Delap whom Calvin has worked with and trained over the years. We will be in contact with you to work through the transition together.
