As a tax partner, Matt has extensive experience managing tax and accounting engagements for closely held companies in the real estate industry; senior living, assisted living, and long-term care industry; and automotive dealership industry. His depth of knowledge about tax planning and compliance allows him to serve as his clients’ primary trusted advisor through the complexities of their tax obligations and financial decisions.

Matt also develops and presents technical training workshops for tax accountants and has provided expert witness testimony for litigation matters.

After spending a year in Salzburg, Austria, Matt decided to major in accounting in college after realizing it was the backbone of all business. Before joining Delap, he spent five years working as a manager for Perkins & Co. in Portland.

A native Oregonian, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife, Sarah, and their three children outside the office. He enjoys traveling, golfing, hiking, and fishing. Besides being a faithful fan of his Portland Pilots, Matt also is a diehard fan of the Washington Redskins and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
