Bringing over two decades of experience providing professional accounting services to individuals and businesses, Melissa loves to help clients succeed and realize their potential.
Melissa specializes in working with closely held and family owned companies, focusing on entities within the real estate industry. Over the course of her career, Melissa has deepened her understanding of the tax implications of trust, estate, and gifting. It is her experience and expertise in these niche areas, as well as insights into wealth transition and planning, that she brings to every client relationship.
In her years practicing accounting, Melissa has learned the value of a proactive, visionary, financial mentor, who serves a greater purpose in the lives of clients than simply providing tax compliance. Beyond providing financial guidance, the relationships developed with clients are in reality the most rewarding aspect of Melissa’s job. Referred to as “part of the family” by clients, these relationships are the driving forces behind her career.
Melissa was raised in both Virginia and Idaho. A combination of her love for numbers and her inspirational CPA step-mother led Melissa to earn her degree in accounting. Upon graduating from the University of West Florida, Melissa began her career in the accounting industry. Combining her career with some breaks to raise her family, and due to her now retired husband’s military career, Melissa has had a varied career in geography and experience.
Outside of work, Melissa enjoys spending time with her husband, Sean, and their four children, Grace, Margaret, John, and Jack. Her passion for helping people is evident through her conviction for ending hunger, poverty, and homelessness, causes she volunteers for regularly.
